CAL”.  Ornate 2 pc. short handguard; slim ebony color wood grips; horse head hilt cap with stylized cannon motif, fouled anchor on one side & what's possible a soft pointed cap on the other.  Handle adornments may be silver; are non-ferrous. - With an excellent condition more recently custom made wood lined leather sheath by Robert Edge.  Will & Finck was a respected maker that went out of business in the 1906 San Fran. earthquake.  While this knife looks to have some age to me, reproductions of this general pattern have been observed, and bidder inspection is  encouraged to make his own inspection and draw his own conclusions. - [8flk039] -
Lot #1099 - Halberd - Good condition. - 26.5” from point to bottom of socket; owner notes this item as “extremely rare & old, with royal family eagle”.  Metal has appearance of fairly heavy even age pitting, but the axe blade remains surprisingly sharp showing little wear and virtually no pitting.  If this artifact is indeed old, the axe edge must have been sharpened in recent decades.  Bidder inspection is urged. - [8flk020] -
